authors

-- four deliciously provocative novellas (Dream Come True, Promise Me, Get Right, and Enough) -- that are sure to have tongues wagging, and pulses racing.

In Dream Come True, Detroit news anchor, Danielle Morton is accustomed to living her life under the white-hot glare of the public spotlight. But, a taboo sexual liaison, just days before her wedding to city council president, Powers Washburn will send her staid world spiraling out of control. When a jealous friend exposes her dirty little secret, Danielle learns the hard way how a few hours of passion can cost a lifetime of love.

Promise Me follows Thalia Sifuentes’ struggle to mend her heart after having it broken into a million pieces by her ex-husband, Harris. Determined to put her life back together, Thalia presses forward with plans to re-marry despite the strong objections of both, her genius daughter, and pushy sister. For Thalia, the fact that she’s still madly in love with Harris is the perfect reason to get married...to Doug.

In Get Right, quintessential material girl, Montana James’ plans for a fairytale wedding hit a major snag when she learns that her fiancé, David Michaels has gambled away his millions. Learning the truth will send Montana to the edge, but an act of violent betrayal will send her into the arms of another man.

Enough poses the question “How low can a man really go?” On the eve of his wedding, Christian Weaver pleads with his best friend, Mark Cannon to reconsider his decision to marry beautiful elementary school teacher Asia Stallings. Unwilling to share the man he loves with another, Christian sets out to stop Mark’s wedding…by any means necessary.

With voyeurs’ eyes, the Hilmons deftly explore the lengths to which some people will go to secure a wedding ring. When it comes to maneuvering the rocky road between “I will” and “I do”... any- and everything goes.

About the Authors

Javaki Hilmon

Javaki Hilmon was born and raised in Detroit, MI and is the youngest of four siblings.

She obtained an engineering degree from the University of Michigan and now works as a Product Engineer for an automotive supplier.

For her contribution to the anthology MAD LOVE (Authorhouse Trade Paperback Original; August 2005) Javaki crafted a delicious tale of one woman's struggle to place spiritual wealth over the material (Get Right). Javaki turned to writing in search of an emotional outlet during a challenging personal and professional period in her life. Never intending to share her written musings with the public, it was the aggressive encouragement of her brother, Essence® Best-selling author, Darrious D. Hilmon that prompted Javaki to pen her first work of fiction. Although not fully confident about writing a full-length novel independently, contributing to the phenomenal collection of short stories that make up MAD LOVE was the perfect next step in this talented new author's burgeoning literary career

Darrious D. Hilmon

Darrious D. Hilmon is the author of the Essence® best-selling novel DIVALICIOUS (Penguin/NAL Trade Paperback Original; August 2004), a sizzling story of love and success with a vengeance. His critically-acclaimed debut FIVE DIMES (Penguin/NAL Trade Paperback Original; August 2003) remains an audience favorite.

Hilmon has over fifteen years of public relations, and event marketing experience under his belt. In 1997 he co-founded The Hilmon Group, L.C., a public relations and event management firm. Among its myriad successes, The Hilmon Group was selected to serve as event producers of A National Tribute to Rosa Parks. The standing-room only gala featuring the presentation of the Congressional Medal of Honor by U.S. Vice President Al Gore and a private concert performance by Aretha Franklin raised over one million dollars for charity.
