An accomplished filmmaker, producer, director, screenwriter, playwright, and businesswoman, V. Helena has been writing creatively for over 15 years. A graduate of the University of Maryland and Marymount University, this Haitian-American has secured degrees in the areas of radio, television, film, business administration, and law. V. Helena was also a Master of Fine Arts major at Howard University where she concentrated in screenwriting and directing. It was at Howard that she collaborated with fellow graduate film students Monique Lindsay, Kinyette Newman, and Sherelle Williams to form the film and video production company, 4 Reel Productions. Most notably, the group produced the music video, Let’s Unwind, for the late jazz saxophonist, George Howard, as well as a feature length film entitled, When I’m Ready, which was written and directed by V. Helena.

After accepting the charge to "write for the Lord" in May 2001, V. Helena immediately turned her efforts toward writing and/or producing Christian based projects. In 2001, she co-wrote the theatrical production, The Red Sea Conviction, for From the Heart Church Ministries in Clinton, MD, which highlighted that church's turbulent break from the AME Methodist denomination. The following year, she established God’s Pen & Scroll Publishing, a literary and copywriting services company headquartered in Prince Georges County, MD. Her years of writing experience has also produced the recently released non-fiction effort, His Love Is Freedom, as well as a follow up book of short stories and love sonnets entitled His Love Is Complete, and first novel, Having It All (to be released 2009). She is also a featured writer in the premier eMagazine--TBR (The Blessed Room) and is a Christian Relationship columnist with the Examiner (http://www.examiner.com/x-7482-DC-Christian-Relationships-Examiner).  You can also read excerpts of her writings at www.shelovesgod.com.

V. Helena lives in Prince Georges County Maryland with her family. Her creative son, Christian, provided the illustrations for His Love Is Freedom.
